Community Midwives’ Bag Trial Underway!

Ten NHS Trusts are the first to use Baby Lifeline Community Midwives’ Bags

The trial trusts received their bags earlier this month and they have been used for nine births in the community so far!

Michelle Watson, Midwifery Matron at Newcastle Hospitals, said their Community Midwives, pictured above, were “excited and ready to participate in the trial.”

Rose Naylor, Chief Nurse at Jersey General Hospital, thanked Baby Lifeline for “the inclusion of Jersey midwives in the pilot of the community midwife bags.”

Here is Jan Auffret, Acting Head of Midwifery, explaining how the bags are used to Rose and the Medical Director, Rob Sainsbury.

Here are Maisie and Sharon from the Ivy Team Midwives at East Sussex modelling their bags. They said,

“We are proud to be one of the few Trusts in the UK to trial these specially designed bags which contain all the necessary equipment to offer a safe home birth service. Thank you!”
