Katie has experience of teaching and coaching QI methodology and working with clinical and non clinical teams to achieve improvements in quality, safety and experience of care for women, children, young people and families.
She was awarded the Mary Seacole Award in 2014, and in 2016 launched in partnership with NHSE, HEE and the RCM; a Cultural Competence e-learning tool for health professionals. This resource is available via e-lfh and is included within the national curriculum framework for Nursing Associate education and training programmes.
Katie campaigns alongside charities and grass-root organisations which in particular make a difference to inequalities, outcomes and reducing unwarranted variation.
