Abhi Lall is a Consultant Neonatologist at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH), London.
He trained at the United Medical and Dental Schools of Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals in London. As an undergraduate he was awarded an Honours BSc degree in Biochemistry and went on to graduate from medical school with a distinction (Obstetrics and Gynaecology) in the MBBS finals examination, University of London.
His higher specialist training in Neonatal Medicine was at Queen Charlotte’s and Chelsea Hospital, Hammersmith Hospital and The Elizabeth Garrett Anderson and Obstetric Hospital at University College Hospital, London.
Abhi was a Consultant Neonatologist at King’s College Hospital, London, from 2004-2019. King’s has a tertiary surgical NICU caring for some of the sickest babies in South London and beyond. The department has an international reputation for the excellence of its research.
Abhi was awarded Membership of the Royal College of Physicians in 1997 and Membership of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health in 1998. He was awarded an MSc in Clinical Paediatrics from the Institute of Child Health, London in 1999 and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health in 2008.
Abhi has presented research work on perinatal immunology at national meetings and has also published work in peer-reviewed journals.
Abhi is GOSH NICU’s lead for risk management and Advanced Nurse Practitioner medical mentorship. He has a major enthusiasm for teaching and regularly lectures on external courses. He is also a Newborn Life Support (NLS) Instructor.
