The Three Cs Get 5 Stars in London
Back in September we hosted our first edition of our new course “Confidentiality, Candour and Consent” in London. The course was hosted by Kennedys Law and sponsored by our friends at EuroKing. We were also honoured to have John De Bono QC of Serjeants’ Inn Chambers as Chair for the event – his brilliantly insightful comments were well appreciated by all in attendance.
The course aimed to provide an understanding of clinical negligence claims and the new case laws emerging from them, while also helping to highlight lessons to help improve practice and avoid such cases in the first place.
There was a long list of impressive speakers which included the Claimant Barrister for the Montgomery case, who steered the change in law of consent, James Badenoch QC of One Crown Office Row.
The day took a holistic approach to the law in risk management – dealing with many different perspectives and approaches. We were also witness to an amazingly brave account by Susanna Stanford on the importance of saying sorry when things go wrong, it was a particularly powerful learning point.
The course as a whole was a huge success and the delegates were keen to come forward with feedback for us – with everyone describing the course as very good or excellent and citing that it’d have an effective influence on their practice. One delegate even said that the course was “one of the best study days I have attended”.
We already have another study day planned in Liverpool on 4th November for those that couldn’t travel to London. If you want to stay up to date with all things Baby Lifeline make sure you follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
