On Sunday 10th March five wonderful fundraisers took part in the Vitality Big Half Marathon and raised over £5,000 for Baby Lifeline! Lets see how they got on!

Grace and Shaun

Baby Lifeline Training Research Manager, Grace and her friend Shaun together raised £1,292.20 and achieved finishing times of 2:32 and 2:33 respectively!

Grace said, “I have worked really closely with Baby Lifeline over the last year, through my role at Baby Lifeline Training, and can honestly say that a donation to Baby Lifeline is a cost-effective investment in the care of mothers and babies during pregnancy, birth, and beyond. It is also an investment in supporting the healthcare professionals who deliver that vital care.”

Nick and Lisa

Baby Lifeline Trustee Nick completed the race in 2:11 and raised £787.50! After the event Nick, a self confessed non-runner tweeted, “I did it!!!! Never again!!”

Nick’s wife Lisa crossed the finish line at 2:06 and has raised £893.25 so far! Lisa said the atmosphere was great, “I heard my name being called regularly ‘come on Lisa’ which is a great boost and along with my adrenaline, the crowds enthusiasm and kindness (those handing out Haribo & Jelly Babies) I accomplished something on my bucket list…I feel I’ve got a bit of the running bug now!”

Clinical Negligence Solicitor Gemma raised £2.070.75 and ran the half marathon in 2:28, with her husband and son joining her for the final 2.4 miles.

Gemma said, “I desperately wanted to do something to help raise awareness and money for Baby
Lifeline so, when I spotted applications for the Vitality Big Half, I decided to go for it even though I’m
the first to admit I’m an inexperienced runner, making this a huge challenge for me.”
