Michael is currently a Senior Registrar in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust and has worked within multiple different trusts in North East London over the last 6 years. He has an avid interest in patient safety, learning from harm and clinical leadership
Michael undertook a Darzi Fellowship in clinical leadership, obtaining a PGCert (Darzi) with Distinction in 2016-17. During this year Michael worked at NHS Resolution and focused on maternity safety, specifically helping set up the Early Notification Scheme for brain injured babies and authored the report, published in September 2017; Five Years of Cerebral Palsy Claims, which can be found here.
During this time Michael was part of the national expert working group to create the agreed definition of neonatal brain injury and represented NHS Resolution on the Maternity and Neonatal Health Safety Collaborative (#MatNeoQI) steering group.
