Kim has been a Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist in Sunderland since 1994. He is Director of Research & Innovation for the Hospital Trust and Visiting Professor at the University of Sunderland.
His clinical interests include high-risk pregnancy and labour ward care. Kim has a long-term interest in obstetric skills-drills and human factors training. He has chaired the ALSO UK Executive committee and remains an active member of the POET UK Working Group.
His other roles include Strategic Clinical Research Lead for the NIHR Clinical Research Network in Northern England. He has chaired several RCOG education committees and is presently Education Lead for the British Maternal & Fetal Medicine Society (BMFMS). Since 2016, he has worked closely with Professor Marian Knight from the NPEU, Oxford in his role as Chair of the UKOSS Steering Committee.
