Kate Womersley is an academic foundation doctor in Edinburgh with particular interest in obstetrics, gynaecology and sexual health. She read medicine at Cambridge University and was previously a Frank Knox Fellow at Harvard University. In 2018, she was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in Explanatory Reporting as part of ProPublica’s series Lost Mothers, which examined rates of maternal mortality and morbidity in the US. She has spoken about nutrition education on BBC Radio 4’s The Food Programme and Kate is the Editorial Fellow at BMJ Sexual and Reproductive Health.
