Jimmy Walker has been Professor in the University Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at St James University Hospital, Leeds since 1994 and undertakes a wide range of additional professional activities.

Professor Walker is currently the Clinical Director of Maternity Investigation with HSIB and was the National Professional Advisor for Maternity to the Care Quality Commission (CQC). He sits on a number of national advisory bodies including the Maternity Transformation Programme Board. He was also an elected member, and former Senior Vice President, of the Council of the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (RCOG) until Sept 2013, was National Advisor for Maternity to the National Patient Safety Agency and chaired the national Sentinel Caesarean Section Audit.

Professor Walker is also Baby Lifeline Training Limited’s President.
